Last year “Read an E-book Month” was declared in Canada with special focus on “Read an E-book Week.”
While researching the special month, I found that Read an E-book Week was first registered in 2004. I can see why it was started. In 2004 I was still adamant that I wouldn’t read e-books and certainly e-readers would go down in flames. Live, learn, and become an e-book addict.
Author Rita Toews has set up a website to continue the celebration of Read an E-book Week, March 3 – 9. The site includes a history of the event, contest, free e-books (Oh no, an addict needs to stay away from that, right?), and current e-book news.
When I moved 1,500 miles a couple years ago, I had to leave behind the majority of my print books. I just couldn’t afford to move the hundreds of books I owned. But my e-books came along with me. I now have over 800 books on my iPad. Told you I’ve become an addict.
Like a true addict, I don’t want to go it alone. Join me in celebrating e-book week by reading, writing, or giving away an e-book.
Here’s my offering:
Preschool: At What Cost? PDF For Mobi or Epub, request by e-mail
Promo coming: To learn more about e-publishing, consider my online class,
Introduction to e-Publishing. Class starts March 11, registration deadline March 4.
How will you be celebrating Read an E-book Week? What’s your favorite e-book? Are you an addict, too?
